This interactive panel focuses on developing professional skills for graduate students and other early-stage researchers. This year’s session topic is “Research Struggles: You Are Not Alone!” Getting stuck, getting null results, and feeling unproductive are common experiences that researchers face, but these struggles can be especially challenging for graduate students & early-career PER practitioners. At this panel discussion, researchers will share their experiences about how they have managed some of their research struggles (unexpected results, changes, failures, redirections). Our hope is that panelists will normalize some of the research challenges we all face and offer insight into how we can manage them. While this session is aimed toward graduate students, we welcome undergraduates who are interested in this professional development opportunity or curious about life as a graduate student!
